Raiding the kitchen again

2010.12.13

I’ve been busy this afternoon creating some Christmas gifts so I ran out of time to do anything particularly inspiring for today’s photo. Instead I raided the kitchen drawers once again for an abstract subject and came up with part of our garlic crusher which I lit with a torch. I know it’s a completely bonkers image but I was desperate!

revenant Ah, despair, the mother of photographic invention - and it worked, btw. I'm glad it's not just you and me in the TI; you'd really show me up.

josy63 I join "revenant", for seen saying that the despair is source of inspiration! And I like this despair there: it has a rather strong taste

Lynda Looks good to me. I find shots born out of desperation often turn out to be the most creative and successful.

Jarvo Wonderful shot. To save time we always use Very Lazy Garlic, so it's nice to know that there is actually a use I can put my garlic crusher to ;-)

????? Helen...don't do it!
I know things might seem desperate now...but there's always a silver lining....things WILL get better.
Think of the loved ones....the family...the friends...the fans!!
Think even of us poor souls on PB....please don't put us through the guilt of thinking we should have done more....we just couldn't take it!
The garlic press is great....it's enough at least...it pleases us and satisfies our sense of longing for the completely bonkers shot we should have taken ourselves!
Who knows where this shot will take you...take us...one day this epiphanic moment will resound throughout the minds of men....the women will be too busy making property deals...and your garlic press will exemplify the age of steam...Mmmmmm, yum!
So please don't lose the will to live and make images....a little squeezed lemon will bring you to your senses! Or failing that visit your local forum, for ummm...some great photographic advice!! :-)

Hahahaha...lovely post my friend!
