I was determined to get out of the house to take today’s Lensbaby photo so I stopped off in Emsworth for a few minutes this afternoon. It was high tide and blowing a gale as I walked along the sea wall – what one of my friends would call a ‘lazy wind’ – one that goes straight through rather than around you! The sea was really quite choppy and a lot of the small boats in the harbour had a water level inside them. However, I spotted this one upside and sinking fast and I thought it might make a decent image. I took this while standing on a small floating pontoon that runs off the sea wall. This made for very exciting conditions – not only was my subject bobbing up and down but I was being buffeted by the gale force wind and the pontoon I was standing on was also rising and falling with the waves. It’s a miracle that I managed to get anything in focus!!
I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who has left such lovely comments on my blog as a response to one of my photos appearing on the front page. I had no idea it was there until I opened my inbox this morning and found a huge selection of emails containing new comments from you all!
