On my way home from Somerset this afternoon I passed Longleat, the magnificent Elizabethan house which is home to the Marquess of Bath and the Longleat Safari Park. I’d never been there before so I thought I’d try my luck and see how far I could get into the grounds before someone demanded money from me. It was 5 o’clock by the time I got there and the entrance kiosks were all locked up so I continued past them and found I could get all the way to the car park and the house for free – result! I had a little look around (although I wasn’t brave enough to take my car through the safari park – I didn’t like the idea of the monkeys puling bits off it!) and managed to catch some photos of the main facade of the house without anyone cluttering up the picture before I continued my journey home.
