'Autumn Leaves' in Birmingham - I can't help feeling this chap could have found a more appropriate tune for the time of year!

I couldn't resist the repetition in the Cathedral's organ stops.

The Cathedral's magnificent Baroque architecture, and those wonderful stained glass windows.

I found this striking piece of artwork on the outside of the city's library.

Today’s photos are an odd mix, the result of a little exploration in Birmingham. My main port of call when I arrived was St. Philip’s Cathedral which I’ve never visited before. It’s Birmingham’s oldest complete building, built by Thomas Archer in 1715. For me its most arresting features were the four Edward Burne-Jones stained glass windows. These were designed by Burne-Jones in the late 19th century and made by the company he owned with William Morris. What struck me was the variety and strength of the colours in the glass which cast such a beautiful light inside the Cathedral, especially as the rest of the windows are glazed with clear glass.

Jarvo Neat set Helen. I especially like the last two so colourful. Interesting angle you chose for that glass, I'm sure I'd have just taken a boring head-on shot.
