I had fun experimenting with my ten stop ND filter today.

The waterfall onto the beach seemed an ideal candidate for a long exposure.

I'm not usually one for self-portraits but I couldn't resist taking an 'I was here' shot in these fabulous surroundings!

This was taken in stealth mode - wriggling forward on my tummy towards the edge of the cliff to get some foreground interest in the frame!

For the first time this week I awoke to blue skies, puffy white clouds and sunshine so I decided the time had finally come to do some hard core landscape photography. Tintagel has always been one of my favourite spots in Cornwall and it seemed the ideal place to get some landscape practice in. I spent a long time exploring both the beach, inside the cove, and the rocky outcrops above. Coming from a very flat piece of coastline I’m always amazed by the rugged beauty of north Cornwall, with its turquoise waters and hugely powerful waves. I generally hate using a tripod (too heavy and a nuisance to carry around) but today I made myself use one. It was worth the effort as it slowed me down and made me consider my framing more. In between bouts of shooting I simply sat and admired the scenery – it was such a luxury to have the time to just watch the world go by for once, listening to the waves crashing below and the skylarks singing above.

Excellent result with #1 - that ghostly effect of the long exposure on the water is very effective.

Helen, this is a beautiful set. The color odf the water is so unlike anything we have in my area! It is so beautiful there. The water looks so powdery as it falls down the rocks. A really cool image. Your portrait is beautiful and you really grace the shot. It is good to see you! Your narrative was so nice to read!!!
