I happened to have my camera on the right settings as this Mallard took off and I was able to catch him in flight.

At every wildfowl sanctuary there's always one pheasant trying to muscle in on the action!

I was intending to stop off for some more landscape photography on my journey home from Cornwall today. However, I arrived in Abbotsbury at lunchtime and decided to stop off at the swannery for lunch and the chance to see the recent arrivals there. I wasn’t disappointed – there were lots of very cute, fluffy cygnets and they reminded me of the song about the ugly duckling who grew up to be an elegant, beautiful swan.

Ahh...the lighting in the first shot really enhances his soft feathers! And our captures in #2 & 5 really accent the markings.
