It was time for the monthly Goodwood Breakfast club today, along with our usual bacon roll from the Naafi wagon cafe, of course! The theme today was ‘Sporting Legends’ and there were lots of sporty models there, dating back to the 1960s. One that particularly stood out for me was a silver Jaguar E-Type which I took quite a few close ups of. It reminded me of the moment in The Italian Job (the original 1969 version, not the more recent remake) when the Italian mafia boss comment that Charlie Croker’s Aston Martin DB4 is a “pretty car” (spoken with a strong Italian accent of course) and enquires whether it has been paid for, before pushing it over the edge of a cliff, along with two gorgeous E-Types!
