Monday minimalism

2011.06.13

Today’s been an odd one – two pupils to teach, separated by seven hours of free time, lots of things I could do during that time, several things I should do and nothing much I wanted to do! In an effort to procrastinate further, this afternoon I cast around the house for a subject for today’s photo. I found this rather eye-catching paperclip in my study and decided I’d try to make it float in water to capture the patterns as it was caught in the surface tension. Sadly this didn’t work (it was too heavy) so I settled for a simple, minimalistic shot instead. Job done, I suppose I really should get on and do some work now!

hmm too heavy you say?... I will have to give something a go myself and see what happens....

this is still an almost floating shot Helen, and quite striking :)

Great shot Helen and very creative! So you are also a fastener enthusiast in addition to being a "petrolhead"! First "bulldogs" now paperclips. What next - staples?
