The annual summer sculpture exhibition is on at the moment in Paradise, the grassed area in the centre of Chichester Cathedral’s cloisters. My favourite sculptures this year are a series of animals made from scrap metal by the Aberdeenshire sculptor, Helen Denerley. They’re welded together from bits and pieces she finds lying around in scrapyards, farmyards, garages and gardens and she creates some wonderfully curvaceous and lifelike creatures from them. I was particularly taken with the crocodile and spent quite some time crawling around on the grass this afternoon trying to find the best angle, regardless of the peculiar looks I was getting from the other visitors!

Well done would like to see the colour version too though , I think the crocodile especially would look nice against agreen background. MoMac · 2011-07-01: 16:29
