Home made muffins
Most of today has been spent on the road, driving the three hundred miles to my course which starts tomorrow. I stopped off in York to meet my friend Felicity on the way and we had a lovely time catching up over a drink in a delightful little tea room near the Minster. After tea we went to the city’s camera shop where I’d noticed a second hand lens in the window which I’ve been lusting after for several years – the Canon 100-400mm lens. The lens was in mint condition and at a very good price (a little more than half the current list price) and too good an opportunity to pass up. I should have plenty of opportunities to try it out this week as Bishop Burton College (where the course is happening) is an agricultural college so there are lots of animals to photograph – including some meerkats!
In the excitement of buying my lens I completely forgot to take any photos today (apart from a few trying it out in the shop) so I decided to photograph one of the delicious homemade banana muffins which Felicity gave me this afternoon. In the absence of a plate to present them on I improvised and used a scarf as a suitable backdrop. Having eaten the other muffin already I can assure you that they are as tasty as they look – thank you Felicity!
