As I left the International Centre for Birds of Prey yesterday I picked this feather up off the ground, thinking it might make a pretty photographic subject – it was evidently no longer needed by whichever bird had moulted it! I hurriedly shot this when I got home late this evening, lighting the feather with a torch to bring out its texture.
