Introvert/extrovert

After a leisurely start to the day I decided to go for a stroll around Reading before my rehearsal in search of some interesting people to photograph. I sat on one of the many benches in the town centre for a few minutes and was struck by the contrast between the young chap in the foreground, deep in thought, and the younger boy leaping around extrovertly in the background.

Ryana The little boy is in the hazy background, yet he draws much attention to himself.
Your eyes miss nothing, do they? ;o)
Beautiful!!

iso400 I love street portraits. This is simply wonderful, with the contrast between the boy and the kid, Great b&w shot.

lgnelson A perfect title to a wonderful observation and capture, Helen. Focusing on the introvert is a perfect opposite of what our eyes naturally do.

josy63 Bravo Helen for these two plans answering perfectly. It seems to me that the B*W gives more strength to the photo.

danrav What a wonderful street shot Helen. Fantastic contrast and illustrates the - Every picture tells a story! I love the clarity of the contemplative boy and the almost hazy, washout background -perfect!

lookagain Helen, I really like this image. Your keen sense of observation is apparent in not only the shot, but your words as well. Bravo on a particularly sensitive and intriguing post!

LAZYWASP I like this too...looks like two images merged together of the same boy...but showing different parts of his personality.

urmysunshine Wow, what great eyes you have to capture such a reality- fabulous!!!!!!!

SheriJ Great capture! Interesting contrast of personalities. I did notice that kids don't tie their shoes over there either. I am a tennis shoe gal so I noitce that stuff. How do they not trip and fall?
SheriJ · 2011-11-07: 10:06
KatysPassionata Yes, this photo evokes so much emotion! the life of a teen can seem burdensome...excellent capture!
KatysPassionata · 2011-11-07: 10:12
davids Right place at the right time but you needed to spot it. Nicely done and good choice for the b/w conversion - it focuses attention on the figures rather than any distracting background

MoMac fantastic capture.
