I’ve stayed with my friend Moira many times and often admired the collection of model cars on the shelf in her spare room. As I spent all of today’s daylight hours helping a group of recorder players to hone their technique I decided to use one of her cars as the subject for my daily photo and it seemed appropriate to choose this handsome Jaguar E-Type in honour of its fiftieth birthday this year. All Moira’s models have a family significance and she told me that this particular car gained a place in her collection because one of her cousins once owned one. This was shot on the kitchen table as a team effort – me balancing my camera on a beanbag and Moira acting as scenery coordinator, holding some white paper in place as a backdrop!
