As most of you will know, I hired the Canon 100mm macro lens (the new L version) over the Christmas break to test drive it. I absolutely loved using this fantastic lens and since then I’ve been looking out for second hand copies or decent prices for new lenses. Earlier this week I noticed that a shop not too far from here had reduced their price by £40 (making it cheaper than anywhere else in the UK) and that, combined with a cashback offer that Canon are running at the moment, was too much to resist. I’ve decided to sell my Canon 60mm macro lens and a Sigma 30mm lens, which I don’t use much, to fund my new acquisition – after all, having two macro lenses seems something of an extravagance! My new lens was the obvious choice to shoot some photos to advertise them on eBay and while I was at it I used it to take an arty close up to post here. If anyone here on PB is interested in either lens (see links above for details specifications) do drop me a line for more info – I’d be delighted if I could sell either of them to a fellow photoblogger. Failing that, they’ll go on eBay next Sunday using the photos I shot today.
