With those enormous claws this little Treecreeper is certainly equipped for the job of climbing trees!

I couldn't resist this rather scruffy looking Blue Tit, especially as he was standing on one leg!

"Are you looking at me?!"

I can't help feeling that Long Tailed Tits are rather unbalanced - is that long tail really enough to counterbalance that chubby little body?!

With Kevin now working full time I’ve been home alone for this week’s half term holiday and I’ve enjoyed finding things to do to make sure I don’t just stay home and work. After spending this morning wrestling with our distinctly dodgy internet connection I decided to pop along to the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust at Arundel once again this afternoon for a short stroll among the birds. Although the centre is best known for its water birds they have a couple of secluded areas with lots of feeding stations for smaller birds and I always seem to spend more time photographing these than anything else when I visit. I spent quite a while in the hide near the feeders this afternoon and was thrilled to encounter a Treecreeper and a couple of Long Tailed Tits for the first time. While some of these shots wouldn’t stand up too well if enlarged greatly (mainly because I was having to shoot at very high ISO settings thanks to the fading light) but I was so pleased to catch some new faces on camera that I just had to share them here.
