I hadn’t intended to shoot recorders two days in a row but unfortunately I hadn’t checked what today’s theme was before I shot yesterday’s Tuesday Inspiration recorder. However, I have plenty of different ones so I decided to go ahead anyway as these are very definitely the tools of my trade. This particular recorder, a treble made by Stephan Blezinger, is the one I use the most in my playing and teaching. I tried taking some images of the whole instrument but after some experimentation I decided that these close ups, featuring just the head and foot joints, worked better.

These are indeed impressive works of art, Helen. I notice in both days shots the absence of teeth marks around the mouth pieces. I know it's a dumb observation, I guess I was used to my kids recorders being all chewed up when in school. danrav · 2012-03-14: 14:41
