Posing for the camera

One of the lemurs pauses momentarily in the sunshine.

The Paragonian Maras were enjoying the sunshine too. They're related to guinea pigs so I guess they're distant relatives of Ann Bramwell's four guineas!

"What do you mean, I've got something caught in my whiskers? Didn't you realise it's a style statement?!"

After a delicious birthday meal for Shirley last night we were left with most of the day to kill before the start of the Northern Recorder Course this afternoon. To while away the time a group of us decided to pay a visit to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park, just outside Doncaster. It’s a relatively new zoo so quite a few enclosures are still under construction. However, some of the species were already well and truly settled in and I found plenty of willing models for portraits, particularly among the meerkats and lemurs.
