I spotted this chap on the DLR platform and liked the way he was caught by the puddle of light.

The goats at the Mudchute city farm were very friendly!

Even in an area of lush greenery like Mudchute Park Canary Wharf is still visible.

The Old Royal Naval College at Greenwich. If I was ten years younger I would have gone to college here as Trinity College of Music moved into this building in 2001.

This sign did make me chuckle as I walked down the stairs to the Greenwich foot tunnel!

The Greenwich Foot Tunnel was opened in 1902 to replace an unreliable ferry service which transported workers from south of the river to the Isle of Dogs.

Aircraft carrier HMS Ocean, moored just off Greenwich for exercises in readiness to protect London during the Olympics. I can't imagine how close it must have been trying to get this enormous ship through the Thames Barrier!

And finally, back to Canary Wharf via the river bus.

Several weeks ago I decided that I was going to go to London today to visit an exhibition of photographs by the 62 Magnum photographers. With the Met Office promising good weather (at last!) I decided to make full use of the day and do some sightseeing too. My friend Ina suggested a walk around Docklands so after visiting the gallery (I can highly recommend the exhibition if you can get there before it closes on the 19th May) I headed for the Docklands Light Railway and began my walk. I covered quite a distance, walking from Limehouse on the north coast of the Thames round to Millwall Dock, through to the city farm in Mudchute Park and from there down to Greenwich on the south of the river – all of this in glorious sunshine and with perfect fluffy blue and white skies overhead. To finish the day I took a river bus back to Embankment. I’ve never been on one of these before and I can’t understand why it’s taken me so long as it’s a fantastic way to see all the riverside landmarks. A perfect way to end a wonderful day.

I liked this walk which you proposed us, Helen. The good weather added a luminosity pleasant to this wandering.
I particularly appreciated your second photo and its vertiginous perspective !
