Today has been infinitely better than yesterday, in every way imaginable. After a good breakfast at my hotel I spent the day working with a lovely bunch of recorder players. By the time we’d finished the sun had come out and, for once, the traffic was on my side as I drove south – not a single hold up between Sheffield and Beaconsfield, where I’m staying tonight. I even managed to stop off at the Silverstone motor racing circuit en route to take a photo of my new car beneath the iconic ‘Welcome to Silverstone’ sign. When I arrived at my hotel they offered me £6 off my already bargain room because the TV didn’t work – who could refuse that offer when there’s nothing on TV worth watching on a Saturday night anyway?! Even better there’s a 24 hour Starbucks next door with free wifi so I’m able to download the day’s podcasts, edit and upload today’s photo and catch up on what all my Photoblog friends have been up to over the last couple of days while drinking a yummy hot chocolate – what’s not to love?!
