Today has been a day of contrasts. I went down to Bosham this morning for a stroll in the sunshine before a concert I was due to perform in at the village church this afternoon. When I returned to my car (which I’ve had for precisely four months) before the concert I discovered that someone had driven into it, damaging two of the doors, and had left the car park without leaving their contact details. Needless to say I was furiously angry at this turn of events. However, one kind soul had evidently seen the accident and left a note under my windscreen wiper containing the registration number of the car in question, the time of the accident and their phone number. Once I got home I called the police and my insurers to report the damage. Thankfully the other driver is insured so I should be able to claim the cost of repairing the damage from their insurers. The upside of all this is that I was so furious at the situation that I put all my pent up frustration into my playing and the Vivaldi Concerto (in which I was one of four soloists) went better than I’ve ever played it before! As I left the church after the concert I found Jack, a well known local cat, sitting out on the pavement watching the world go by. He’s a lovely old fellow and happily accepted a good fuss from me in return for having his photo taken - a lovely end to an otherwise mixed day.
