I had another go today at shooting an image for the cover of the CD I’m currently working on. I like the idea of combining the recorder and piano in the picture (as my friend Brian, whose music we’re recording, played both instruments very well and composed for both) but I can’t quite decide which layout I like best. My preconceived idea was for the diagonal recorder but now I’ve created the other one I think I prefer that! This may not be final version but I think I’m getting pretty close.....

I've posted both these photos and my post for 8th July today so if you've missed my other post you can see it here.

????? OH, I like them both! the first one has more of a clean look to it, maybe more professionsal, while the second one looks funner- (in my humble opinion;~)

josy63 For me, no doubt it is the first one. Why? I ignore it, but it seems to me that whatever is the music, it goes to the heart in a straight line

Jarvo Personally, I prefer the second one.

DancingDolphin Have you tried moving the recorder just slightly away from the ends of the black keys so that the two don't run together? Just a thought but it seems like they could use just a little space of their own. Beyond that, I prefer the second... the first is a little too close to half & half for my taste, but you could alter that just a touch easily. Either way, I think the title would benefit from having a font that is different from the rest of the type. Maybe unify things a little: James Letham, Pianist.... Helen Hooker, Conductor?? Sorry if this is more than you want. I spent years doing design work and everybody has their own opinion... feel free to ignore mine! 8^)

Ryana What I think: Picture one is a more "serious" picture than two, who is more "cheerful"
Like Jacki says, also for my taste, the image would be calmer if the recorder and keys are not touching.
