The first day of the CD recording finally arrived today and I was determined to capture some photos of the day as well as recording the music for posterity. I caught a few candid moments during tea breaks and this afternoon I finally captured a shot of the whole group in the studio. Musically speaking we achieved nothing short of a miracle today, recording all the planned ensemble music plus the smaller scale pieces which I had expected to have to leave until tomorrow. We’ve still got about six pieces to record tomorrow but if everyone continues playing as fabulously as they have done today we might even be finished early – now that would be a very welcome miracle!
