I’ve been busy beavering away over a hot computer today, composing some programme notes to accompany last weekend’s CD when it’s released in the autumn. Having finally written and fine tuned 1600 words (about 400 of which will still have to be edited out so it fits into the pages available) I popped out to buy some food. While I was doing so I noticed some rather tasty looking Welsh cakes which were just saying, “Buy me!” Who am I to ignore the pleas of such delicious looking cakes? And my excuse for doing so? They make a rather scrummy looking photo prior to being eaten!

These are called Cacen Gris and are cooked on a griddle on top of the stove. The translation means speckled cakes. Very lovely and moorish they are too. Enjoy! SADHYA · 2012-08-17: 09:37
