grupakliniczna The wafer sharing tradition is from 18th centaury and survived only in Poland and Lithuania. During Christmas Eve ( in Polish "Wigilia") when the first star appears at the sky the whole family gets together. First the head of house takes wafer ( in Polish "oplatek") and wishing all the best distributes the wafer ( it is plain, 1mm thickness) to all participant.
