Her eyes are pools and I am drowning/drowning/sinking into dark waters without fear/filling my lungs/and I can hear my pulse pounding in my ears as my heart pleads for oxygen/my blood turns to water/lungs deprived/I am sensation/but my arms fail to move/legs are numb/I don’t thrash/and the surface slips away/as I descend/and somewhere the moon recedes/see how it dims?/at the sight of her
Submerged I inhale…

I did not take this photograph (though I wish I had have, or in the least been in the presence of her at the moment of capture) it was a gift, unlike any gift I have ever received.
