Famous landmark of the Kentro, the Electra Plaza. Needless to say, this is where I'm spending my last night in Thessaloniki. Ya Mas!

Woke up early and visited the local "farmers" market. Lots of fresh produce, exotic (to me) sea food, and several home good stands. The fruit was some of the most delicious I have ever tasted.

For class, a tour of the Thessaloniki Archaeological site was given. Following learning more about the ancient history the city had, I ventured off to see what was current in downtown Thessaloniki.
The "Kentro" or Center of Thessaloniki is full of beautiful history, restaurants, and shops. When getting a lovely tour by an almost native, we attended drinks on the top of the Electra Plaza; aka eighth floor roof top bar. Walked the entire shopping district. Found great souvenirs and looked like tourists taking photos every where. Visited on of the many famous Orthodox churches of Thessaloniki and lit a prayer candle. A visit to the market of the Kentro was interesting as authentic as it gets Greek products were for sale. There was also a tour of the best cafes, bars, and restaurants downtown had for college students. It was discovered that there is ONE and only ONE Mexican restaurant in Thessaloniki, alongside only ONE Spanish restaurant. I miss my chips and salsa. Its very sad when all I crave in this country is Pueblo Real's taquitos. YUM! I guess until then, I'll just have to deal with gyros. Darn.
