An intercoastal lake - not actually in the middle of the state, but taken around this time period nonetheless.

I visited my friend across the state a couple of weeks ago. These pictures were taken during my journey both to and from his house on the east coast. This area is called the heartland of Florida because of its heavy agriculture and industry. Phosphate is a top export of Florida and the town of Mayberry is the bulls eye for this pock-marked region of the state. Where there isn't a phosphate pit there is a mountain where the land has been piled on. It's a strange universe, but a serene one.
