Along this road and many others, they cleared the land back so that houses could be built here - but the forest lucked out and now it slowly returns and buries these memories.

Day 3 again painted miles across the region, spanning most of the southern part of the state before returning home late in the evening. The day started early with a trek up to Turner River road and then over to Jane Memorial Scenic Drive in Fakahatchee Strand, which led up to Picayune Strand State Forest. Afterwards, a drive across the state through Loop Road, across Tamiami and down Krome to Redland, Florida led us to the Fruit and Spice Park - and some exotic plants.
