My friend from work joining us said the table and people looked like something out of a Norman Rockwell painting... (: We enjoyed wine from my good friend Peter's Sineann label.

I'm thankful for my mother and I am thankful for my dad,
I am thankful for my friends and all the fun we had
I am thankful for my brother Austin even when he's jerky
But most of all I am oh so thankful not to be a turkey

Taking my daughter to feed the ducks at a local pond over the holiday. She is only now old enough to ride on the motorcycle but is taking to it like a pro.

Better late than never eh? This year Thanksgiving had a very special meaning for me. My parents who spend the winter in Arizona made it to my home in Oregon for thanksgiving. With four brothers and sisters who also live in Arizona and so many friends it is a bit of a competition to have them here in the Northwest. (: My father who was a master chef early in his career and my mother also a hell of a good cook always put on a show. They arrive a week early and thought about and crafted every wonderful detail of this meal.

The best part though is simply spending time with whom are, truthfully, some of the warmest most genuine people you will ever meet. They both love people and have the most wonderful sense of humor. After raising 5 children they claim that it comes with the territory. They say you can’t go home again, but you know, for one evening, I did... and I am grateful.

My we invited my wife's family and a visiting coworker from Japan who experienced some traditional dishes for the first time. Looking back, I am very thankful indeed. (:
