GEOMUNGO [Komungo]
Dans le royaume de Goguryeo (37 av. J.-C. à 668 ap. J.-C.) Wang Sanak a inventé le geomungo à partir d’un Chilhyeongeum (un instrument à sept cordes) envoyé par la dynastie Xin.
"Gŏmungo" [Komungo] signifie "un instrument à cordes noir".
Le geomungo [Komungo] est constitué d’une caisse de résonance en bois de paulownia et de châtaignier sur laquelle sont tendues 6 cordes en soie.
Pour jouer du geomungo [Komungo], placer les tons avec la main gauche et pincer les cordes avec les doigts de la main droite. Le geomungo peut être joué avec un suldae (une baguette en bambou) en plus des doigts de la main droite.

In the kingdom of Goguryeo (37 - 668 BC) Wang Sanak invented the geomungo [Komungo].
"Gŏmungo" (an instrument in seven ropes) sent by the dynasty Xin.
"Gŏmungo" [Komungo] means " a black stringed instrument ".
The "Gŏmungo" [Komungo] is composed by a wooden resonance chamber of paulownia and by sweet chestnut tree on which are stretched out 6 silk ropes.
To play the geomungo [Komungo], place tones with the left hand and pinch ropes with the fingers of the right hand. The geomungo can be played with a suldae (a baguette in bamboo) besides the fingers of the right hand.
