Love padlocks (also known as Love Locks) Prague

Locks of love are the padlocks fixed by loving couples, on to a fence or a pole or metallic chain/string alongside some wall etc at a public place, to symbolize their eternal love. A couple would hang a padlock after inscribing their name or initials on it and throw the key away so that their love is locked forever. Some couple use two inter-twined locks, each lock bearing their name/initials. Besides lovers, often family members and close friends also put such locks at these places, to lock their relationship forever.

The tradition probably originated from China where the love locks can be seen at several locations alongside the Great Wall of China and also in many temples and on the steps/paths leading to sacred peaks.

The tradition has spread around the World and is now quite prevalent in South Korea, Japan, Italy, Hungary, Latvia, Russia, USA etc.

Jawa Stadion.....I had one just like it.....

I also had one like this. Jawa Mustang 50ccm thanks to my grandma....

When I was 14 years old I had my drivers licence for 50ccm motorcycles but I needed to wait to be 15 years old to be able to drive.
Problem was that I had nothing to drive and my parents would not buy me a motorcycle. No way!
In the summer that year I was visiting my grandparents in the country as I did every summer.
I was talking to my grandma about my “big” problem and before I vent back home she give me the money to buy a brand new motorcycle Jawa Mustang 50ccm. It was 3000 Czech Koruna.
I remember it as if it was yesterday.

...and of course I needed to have one Jawa Babetta 50ccm also….
Those motorcycles are in my parent’s neighbour collection and that funny Ferret is real and just roaming around all over the place...

I enjoyed this set very, very much - so fun and interesting! I'm especially curious about #17-19 - I thought they were handbags at first, then I looked closer and think they are very large and colorful padlocks?!

What an incredible set! What is the story behind the dog statue? And a ferret?? I used to have a ferret called Tarquin - he died a few years ago, and I have to say ferrets are amongst the smartest, most loving, playful and amazing animals on the planet - great to see one enjoying life
