I remember when I was small I liked to look at my fathers army collage.
He was serving for two years in the town of Rakovnik. It was obligatory service. All boys had to go at the age of nineteen. Once in two weeks if soldiers were good they had a day off and they could leave the military campus and go to the town. My dad and his friends’ soldiers vent to the beach at the local lake one weekend. They did some swimming and of course some beer drinking at the beach canteen. …..oh and yes, my dad did one extra little thing that day. He pulled out a girl that was drowning out of the water.
That girl is my mom…..
