"... TO TURN WIND INTO LUXURY"
Chris Towsend is a man at sea with a kite... An extremely eco-friendly kite. Using kite propulsion technology 'Viridis', a 75m luxury yacht can sail using the prevailing trade winds as it's only power source. Chris says that: when the kite is flying the luxury yacht, that draws aesthetic influences from South-east Asia, is transformed into a silent floating island -- the perfect getaway!
The design work of the 'Viridis' project was supported by
SkySails and the design work can be seen at Coventry University's Transport and Product Design Show entitled 'Re/active' until 5th June 2008.
