Benches next to the Hall of Preserving Harmony. The Hall has no support pillars, and to the rear is a 250 tonne marble imperial carriageway carved with dragons and clouds, which was moved into Beijing on an ice path.

(BEST ENLARGED) - Tree in the Imperial Garden. The Garden is set at the northern end of the Forbidden City. 7000 sq meters of fine landscaping, including rokeries, walkways and pavilions.

Stairway leading to the Hall of Middle Harmony. The Hall was used as a transit lounge by the Emperor to the Hall of Supreme Harmony, the most important and largest structure of the Forbidden City.

The Forbidden City, officially known as Palace Museum (Gugong), is China’s most magnificent architectural complex and was completed in 1420. It covers an area of 720,000 sq meters and consists of over 800 buildings. Forbidden to commoners, 24 Emperors over 500 years ruled China from its halls.

Great! You make me remember an article from Reader´s Digest Selections that shows too many pics about Forbidden City and now you refresh my visual impressions. The article was seeing for my at 1977, 30 years ago when my father share it with me as a mean for help me to learn about reading. This place is sUpErb! Thanks for sharing!
