Wet & foggy in the late afternoon when the clouds momentarily part to reveal the sublime peak of Dhauligiri...a mad scramble for the camera...taken from Ghorapani

Wow, such great pictures. Makes me want to go back (I was there in '84). I didn't get amongst the mountains (I only went as far in as Nargacot), and my favourite memory of the immensity of the Himalayas was from an Indian Airlines airbus travelling between Kathmandu and Delhi. My favourite memory of the spirituality of that region was when I spotted about 60 Tibetan monks walking along the road in Kathmandu and I wanted to run after them and say "take me with you." Have I raved on enough yet? ;)

There is a certain atmosphere to these that digital lacks - the five lengthwise shots are exceptional.

This is an outstanding post, dear Harry! Wonderful landscapes all around, masterfully photographed. The one place I'd go if I had one last trip to do before leaving this world would be just there, in the middle of these gorgeous, majestic mountainsm surrounded by colorful flowers... #1, 4 & 6 are unforgettable.
