Budda

This is "Budda". Well, that is what our family has called him for a long time. My Dad found this at some yard sale back when I was a kid and brought it home for my Mom. Odd, yes... but that was my Dad. It was solid black at the time so my Mom went to work and painted Budda up to what you see today. It was passed on to me to take care of quite a few years ago so I carefully packed him up in bubble pack, foam and a very thick cardboard box.

When I unpacked him a while back I found that his head had cracked and broken off. I was heartbroken but found most of the pieces to put it all back together. You can see a small piece that is missing on his neck, but I will match the paint and fix that as well.

To keep this from happening again I have carefully filled him with expanding foam and after some cleaning, seal him with multiple coats of mat finish polyurethane.

Budda will become one of those strange family heirlooms as I pass him on later in life.
