they only use these tracks for cape canaveral, they haul the shuttles back and forth to the launch pads and their 'silos' when they're not being launched, locked up tight!!

just a quick trip to the beach after work for an hour or so... they were having a controlled burn, quite a treat to see the choppers scooping water etc...
