Checking around...

2007.08.18
the trees at my dad...

in the afternoon, yesterday...

They opened the supermarket this morning...

Second post (look yesterday, please)
Here are the views we could have...
I went to see my brother who lives close to the sea....
At my dad's the roof was seriously gone, fortunately, the house is empty... the trees were broken or taken off the soil...

But I heard that it's going to pass through Haïti a lot more harder ! We had wind going up to 200km for the strongest, but generally 150/170, but they're expecting 240 to 300 ! So lets keep our thoughts positive and hope that it won't go further....

Carley What a mess!~ I can't even imagine winds that strong. We'll certainly keep all good and positive thoughts for all the people in the path of this monster! Again, so glad that you're OK. I haven't heard from the others in our Photoblog from Martinique.... Do you know if they're OK also?
Carley · 2007-08-18: 23:31

JacquesR Impressionnant !

chipotle what a conflict. such a prime opportunity for photos, but it's prime because of the devastation wreaked. i am glad, though, that the loss did not include life.
chipotle · 2007-08-19: 10:10

jendayee Thank to everyone for your support, prayers and thoughts.
Now, as it was said we have to repair, lots of houses don't have roof.
And it's going now to Jamaica, strong ! Haiti was less injured than it could be, I give thanks for that !

CatsEyes I understand Jamaica was hit harder than us in Martinique, as well as the Yucatan peninsula in Central America. Mexico escaped as it went down from category 5 to category 1, but I believe it has gathered speed again over the Gulf of Mexico. Fingers crossed for Southern US and Florida!
