Lunar Eclipse

2008.02.20
Sorry, my camera gets really noisy at high ISOs but it came out pretty decent! : ) I heard that another planet could be seen as well if you had a telescope. Anyone know if that little bright dot in the bottom left corner is a planet?

This was as it was coming out of the eclipse but then it was overcast and I could only get the bright part of the moon to come out in the photo.

I didn't know that there was going to be a lunar eclipse tonight until one of our customers came in and told us to take a look. I tried to get what I could with my camera. I wanted to get some pictures as the moon was coming out of the eclipse but then it started to get a bit overcast.

TerralDee Isn't it Venus?

bchat The little light lower left of the moon is Saturn. You could actually see the rings with strong binocs or a weak tele. BTW, lovely Mars-like coloring on your Moon.
