a cute kid's book series

2008.04.20

My friend Letitia introduced me to this cute children's book series called "The Gardians of Ga'Hoole." It's a fun little series about owls - good fighting against evil and all that. It's impressive that the author churns out so many of them and the story is still interesting.

When I was younger I was always trying to prove that I could read the same books my brother was, so while my friends were reading Judy Blume I was struggling through The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. I kind of feel as if I'm making up for all of the books I didn't read when I was younger. I think one of these days I will spend a Saturday and just sit at the library and read all of those books I never got around to reading. I also loved fantasy books (still do) but it was so not cool to read them when I was younger and there really wasn't much of it. Now, because of Harry Potter, there is an explosion of fantasy novels for kids and teens and I love reading them all.

Lynda Nice post. I go to kids films occasionally without even the excuse of having a nephew or niece with me!
