flowers for me

I was feeling a little down today so I bought some flowers to try and cheer myself up, although it just made me feel kind of pathetic. I think because most of my exes have never bought me flowers, giving me the really stupid excuse of "well, they're expensive and are going to die anyway...it's such a waste of money." It's wonderful to know that when it came to giving me something to brighten my day or saving money, it was saving money that was more important. Sigh. Where do I pick up these losers? Anyway, I've always had to buy flowers for myself and it makes me more sad than happy when I do.

The only time (sort of) I had ever gotten a really nice bouquet of roses was from a stalker. Lovely, isn't it? When I was in college some guy (found out much later who it was) had a crush on me and kept having these beautiful roses sent to me. It was kind of flattering at first but it started to get kind of weird when I would get baloons and notes that said "I love you." The last and creepiest thing he gave me was a recording of my voice final which was attended only by faculty, no students or guests were allowed to watch. He mailed it to my new address which I thought no one knew because I hadn't even moved into my new place and didn't really share my info with a lot of people. Later on I found out he had a friend in the drama department who was passing him information about me and snuck him into the theater to record my voice final. Creepy. Thankfully he never bothered me again after that.
