putting up posters in Irvine...

...is impossible!!!!!!! So we were supposed to go around to our tour cities and put up posters and leave brochures so people know we are going to be performing in the area soon. Well, I stupidly agreed to go down to Irvine. Every shopping center I went to was owned by this company that apparently doesn't allow any kind of non-business related poster to be put up in the windows (or so the business owners all told me) and none of them wanted to hang the posters inside. I got some people to post it in break rooms or I was able to leave brochures in waiting rooms (dental offices, nail/hair salons, etc) but other than that I got a very unfriendly welcome there. The good thing is that the city seems to be doing a lot of advertising themselves as well, which is great. I saw a huge sign in front of the civic center and a post about our performance on the city website. I am going to try and go again on thursday and go to some community centers and libraries that my friend (who lives in irvine) suggested. And yes, I did try the schools but it is too much of a pain to get the posters and brochures approved by the district.
