a crafty kind of evening

I was home early today so decided to finally finish a project that I had been meaning to start on for a while (except I lost my ruler so was waiting until I went and bought another one).

I had bought some prints from an artist, Suzanne Woolcott, and wanted to put the pictures around my bed. Now I can't afford that many frames nor do I want some heavy thing with sharp corners falling on my head during an earthquake but the prints look awful on my wall without anything around them.

I decided I would make a "frame" or more like a photo mat-looking thing around each print. It took me a lot of time, even though I did several of them last night, but I am really happy with the result! I'm still not done yet. I want to print out the title of each print on some nice paper and somehow creatively add them to my "frames" but for now I'm happy that they're done to this point and I can put them up. Now, just to figure out what to use to stick them to my wall....
