catching up, shopping and a melon

It was a busy day today. I had a lot to do at work since I wasn't there all day yesterday. I also tried to catch up with everyone's posts today and I think I did for the most part. I can't believe how just a couple days of not keeping up with other people's entries can really pile up - but it's great because that means everyone is keeping up with their blogs! : )

I did some shopping online today as well. I am still on a search for a dress for my friend's wedding. I bought one because it was really inexpensive but I'd rather not wear it, so it's my backup for now in case I don't find anything else. I've had my eye on the dress I posted for a couple days now but I am a little leery about strapless dresses. I've never worn one but it seems like when I see girls who are wearing strapless dresses, all they do is hike the dress up all night, which I don't want to do. It's also more than I really want to spend. So should I, shouldn't I?? Well, I still have a month, maybe it will go on sale. That would probably make me buy it.

As for the melon, my dad decided to pick it because someone had taken a smaller one that was growing on the vine and smashed it. He didn't want our melon to meet the same fate! I had to cut it open to find out if it was really a canteloupe. It looks and smells like it. If it grew somewhere cleaner I'd risk taking a bite to taste it but it's so nasty and filthy where it was growing I'd rather not. It was fun watching it grow - I really wish I could have a little vegetable garden! Well, someday....
