bubbles

I just thought it was interesting that the bubbles started from about a 1/2 inch from the bottom of the glass instead of all the way at the bottom. I had a tiny bit of water sitting in the glass all day that i threw out first before pouring in the ginger ale, I wonder if that had anything to do with it...
