Hoi An is renowned for its local artisans. As you walk around the streets of the old quarter, if you haven't already marvelled at the speed in which the tailor's can make up a made-to-measure suit, you can visit weaving workshops or see painters and woodcarvers in action. Of course it's done to get you in there and spending money, but it's fascinating to watch.
