Hanoi has a wonderful museum of ethnology about 7km outside the city centre. Particularly interesting is the outside area where there are recreations of buildings particular to some of Vietnam's many ethnic peoples.
The tomb in this photograph is a Giarai burial tomb. The Giarai people from the central highlands build a grave house over the tomb and around the building they place wooden carvings of sexually-explicit men and women and pregnant women, symbolising fertility and birth, to accompany the deceased into the afterlife.
