We had passed across the border overnight and our view the next morning had changed dramatically from barren, arid desert to mountains and snow.
Every time we felt the train move round a bend there was a rush for the window to catch a glimpse of our train in front of us... proof indeed that we were travelling on the Trans Siberian.
