So much rain! My flowers are loving all the rain and they are growing like crazy. The morning glory seeds I planted on May 30th are already sprouted and climbing up the trellis. Nicholas loves going outside and surveying all the seed growth and admiring the flowers. See, he helped me with most of it so he feels some ownership of the gardening this summer. We didn't spend a whole lot of time outside since it was raining most of the day. And, by rain, I mean sheets of rain that came down so hard they bounced right back up. I spent most of the day cleaning the inside of the house in anticipation of spending most of the weekend outside.
Tonight, after dinner, the boys spotted an opossum running along the back of our yard. We ran thru the house, first the dining room window to the kitchen to the back patio. The critter was heading to the shed. Mike noticed a hole dug under the shed and he filled it in several times but it would always get freshly dug right out again. No, I suspect that we have a possum living under our shed. Michael seemed to think it was fat and waddly and is convinced it is a pregnant possum. We'll see. You might see pics one day of a momma possum with babies on her back.
The day Mike departed, me and the boys made a construction paper chain with 235 links. We strung them thru the living room. When it started, the chain had a few links hanging down onto the floor. Now, it almost to the top of the curtain rod above the patio. It isn't even close to being to the end but it is a nice visual to see that we are getting closer to being reunited again. :)
