The beach at Southport Spit a while back

How it looked today, after a couple of weeks of torrential rain and floodiing further south.
|
Lots of debris washed up by the surf - even a dead cow at another beach.
|
The conditions made it dangerous for surfers - large logs and other obtstacle rolling around in the surf.
|
That didn't stop the local surf school.
|

There's been a lot of beach erosion too - quite a steep drop to the beach now.

A hugh amount of erosion - I guess the sand will come back in time. Interesting set!

Wow, what a contrast! The first one is so gorgeous - love the presence of the kid and the gull. I hope it can recover quickly - I guess the erosion could be a problem.

Erosion sure presents a strange landscape!... But these shots are superb, especially #3 & 7...really atmospheric.

Erosion, a real poison!!! We see that very often in martinique after hurricanes, storms and rains :((((( ....

Very interesting post. This is not unusual to me, at home this happens regularly, then it gets clean again, shorter, bigger. Of course we all love it when it's like on 1 :)

Wonderful set ... amazing to see the changes of torrential rains! Funny how you can't stop the surfers, no matter how much debris may be floating in the surf!

I was wondering if you were going to post some pictures of the debris on the Gold Coast beaches. :) That erosion is amazing. Your photos are so good, I almost feel like I'm there!

The changes show really clearly..very interesting to see . Makes you wonder how fast the erosion will continue.
